Not just humans who throng JPO

Flies as huge as Kate Middleton's engagement ring also cannot resist the shopping attraction of JPO. They were everywhere(over the Christmas weekend), from inside the display drawers to the well-pressed jackets-leaving out the word 'clean' here- lining the racks.
While the source of the endless supply of flies is not known, one can't help but notice that a toilet (relatively clean) is located right next to the brightly-lit food court which was like a resort to the flies. Instead of checking out the food offerings, more time was spent eyeing where the flies chilled out at.

JPO must prepare herself for busy weekends

During the Christmas weekend, driving into the JPO sprawling car park took 20-30 mins worth of waiting and engine idling time.
There were so many people in the popular brand stores (Gap, Guess, Emporio Armani...) that the shops looked like busy wet markets more than 'premium outlets'. Many items on display also looked quite old/not new and most had only one piece available - out of stock or staff not replacing the items quick enough?
The queues outside Coach and Burberry were so daunting that many people decided not to queue and left.

Familiar sight for many who's been to Bugis Junction...An alternative fun to keep your kids entertained and erm, WET at JPO. Do bring along some extra clothing and towels if they really would like to keep cool this way!
Although it was a breeze looking for parking lot at the huge carpark of Johor Premium Outlets but the frustrating long queue to pay for the parking charges later came very unexpected. It so happened that the auto payment machine broke down that weekend and there were not many available. Hopefully it's just an unfortunate incident and we won't see a repeat often in future. Certainly not fun queuing under the hot sun with some uninvited flies adding to one's irritation.

No Malaysian Ringgit at JPO? No worries!

An information centre is available and it's easily accessible being located just next to the food court. There is staff on duty to answer your queries and to assist you if you need help. Strollers and wheelchairs can be provided if required but strollers are to be rented and are chargeable.

For those who were too excited and forgot to change money first, you will be glad to know that there is a Maybank service for money changing, which is located at the next safest place at JPO - beside the Police Post.

Parents may be relieved to know that there is a playground available to keep kids who are not keen on shopping occupied with swings and see saw. Of course you are strongly advised to keep them supervised while they have their own share of fun.

Food Oh Glorious Food!

Another important thing for many, apart from shopping would be food! The new food court at JPO is quite nicely done up with decent offering of food variety. The overall setting is comfortable with artistic lighting and colourful seating. Plenty of seats are available and the pricing is pretty reasonable. We will do a food review soon, stay tuned!

Care for a nice cool thirst quenching fruit juice after queuing for ages outside Coach or Burberry? At very friendly prices too!

Burberry - Another hot favourite

Burberry, the luxury British brand is another factory outlet not to be missed at the JPO. It's also drawn long queues and there are security officers on duty to control entrance of customers and ensure order.

The offerings are not bad and discounts offered are at least 50% or more! Definitely worth the queue and visit!

These shops are not ready yet...patience please!

What else but Coach

Despite the crowds, you won't miss the much sought after American branded designer bag shop - Coach here. It's a rather big shop at the Johor Premium Outlets and just look out for the long queues of people waiting patiently outside to find Coach outlet. It's like a must-get item (or items) for all ladies from their trips to JPO to make it all worthwhile. After all, it is an well-established brand - with an American attitude since 1941.

Welcome to Johor Premium Outlets! Guess most will be using "JPO" instead in no time. This is what greets you after successfully parking in the huge carpark. Made first visit last Saturday during the long weekend break. There should be about 80 branded factory outlets in this newly started shopping destination in Johor Bahru.

However perhaps due to its smaller size compared to the US outlets and some shops like Polo Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, Tommy Hilfiger and Braun Buffel which are not opened yet, it didn't seem to have that many shops. Nonetheless, many shoppers were clearly satisfied with their shopping bags from Coach, Burberry, DKNY, Armani Exchange, Salvatore Ferragamo and more.

Great view with nice breeze...There are plenty of parking lots!
